Experts in 1970 said the following and yet we still want to believe so-called experts?

Civilization will end within 15 to 30 years unless immediate action is taken against the problems we’re facing as mankind. Biologist George Wald, Harvard made this statement in 1970.

“By 1995 somewhere between 75 and 85% of all species of living animals will be extinct.” That came from Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1970

“Because of increased dust, cloud cover and water vapor, the planet will cool. The water vapor will fall and freeze and a new ice age will be born,” Newsweek magazine. “The world will be 11 degrees colder in the year 2000. That’s twice what it would take to put us in an ice age.”

“Air pollution is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone,” biologist Paul Erlich said in 1970. By 1973 he also went on to say 200,000 Americans would die from air pollution and that by 1980 the life expectancy of Americans would be only 42 years.

And now we are being told global warming is man made… do we really believe this? Because we are headed down the primrose path of changing almost everything about our lifestyles this time around. Are you willing to bet your lifestyle on so-called expert opinion? I am not, I don’t believe any of this tripe… we can’t predict the weather this coming weekend yet somehow we can predict global weather changes 50 years from now… PLEASE!!! Are we this gullible?

As a professional scientist that has studied geologic environments for 15 years, I can see in the geologic record that the world has had brutally different climates over time… and MAN was not even standing upright. We have to be arrogant to the extreme to think we can destroy this planet. And absent a nuclear war, I doubt we can meaningfully change the climate no matter what we do. The earth is in equilibrium and it is always trying to correct itself to maintain a consistent environment. Sure cataclysmic events occur that throw the Earth completely out of equilibrium, but over time it returns.

In my humble assessment, all this global warming stuff is silly and is going to make our lives miserable starting with these crazy curly flourescent bulbs in 2011. Well I am not going to be inconvenced with those damn expensive bulbs… NOPE!!!! In 2010, I will buy one-hundred 100w, 75w, 60w, 40w incandescent bulbs so that I won’t have to fuck around with these new fangled swirly bulbs that qualify as hazmat sites if broken according to EPA. What a silly debacle… you will no doubt have to bring in a special team to clean up any bulb that is accidentially broken. Meanwhile I will enjoy my incandescents… hopefullly the rest of my life.

Folks I know I have said this ad nauseum, but with each passing election, our leaders become bigger nit-wits who have nothing to do except burden citizens with more and more nonsensical regulations and crazy unfounded theories. GOD HELP US!!! WE have to find true citizen politicians as envisioned by our founding fathers. Citizens who are our best and brightest, not nit-wit that socialize well and play petty politics. These are not leaders!!! These people are career politicians, never envisioned by our founders. And worse yet, they pander to each special interest group in order to preserve their power, which again was not what our founders expected. Pandering is not leadership. Opinion polls are not leadership. Leadership is having a vision founded in uniquely American values and principles that subordinates the power of the government to the citizenry… not the other way around which is EXACTLY where we are today. All I can do is end by “shaking my head” in disbelief… once again.
